Elena was especially friendly and gave us great tips on things to do and places to eat. The staff were great, and the hotel was comfortable and just right for us. A great hotel in the heart of Valleta. Thank you!

Some street noise came through at night, which is the small trade-off for such a central spot. The Barrister Hotel is within walking distance of Valletta's main sights, restaurants, and the ferry, and its boutique feel made the stay more personal. Staff were warm, attentive, and helpful from the moment I arrived, and everything was spotlessly clean. My modern room was cozy and well laid out, with a comfortable bed, stylish bathroom, great walk-in shower, and all the amenities I needed. Some rooms are smaller. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, though I would've liked a bit more variety. I'd happily stay again and recommend it for a boutique stay in the heart of Valletta.

We loved Valletta, and the downtown noise was okay. But our travel agent had reserved a room for three, and what we got was a room for two, with one single bed and just one drawer for all three of us. The bathing setup was frightening and unsafe. There was no shower, grab bar, or anything to hold on to, just a slippery porcelain tub. Since I have osteoporosis, I had to be extremely careful taking even a small shower. My husband had to steady me with one arm and hold the sprayer over me with his other. I can't wait to get home to my walk-in shower with grab bars.

The breakfast was very adequate and enjoyable, and the kitchen was lovely. The cleaning staff were good too. We had no complaints about the other reception staff, only the person on duty when we arrived. The location was hard to find and very noisy. We'd asked for a twin room, but got a queen bed base with two single mattresses on top. When we asked to switch, we were told there were no spare rooms. The mattresses were old, lumpy, and very uncomfortable. We were told there would be snacks in the fridge, but there were only soft drinks, which neither of us drinks, and no snacks. When we told the staff member, she said, “they are free,” but no snacks were provided. We arrived in Malta after flying from London,Australia.
