La Fenice by Giancarlo

Giancarlo was so friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and comfortable, and the air conditioning was nice and cold. The rest of the house was clean and richly decorated. An amazing place to stay in Gozo, highly recommended.

Everything you might need is nearby, from the central bus station and restaurants to the church, hospital, clinics, dental clinics and fish shop. Most things are just 1 to 10 minutes away. The place is clean and lovely, and we were welcomed with so much care. Giancarlo is the best host we’ve met. He makes you feel like family.

The house was clean, and it’s very practical for bus trips since it’s close to the main bus terminal. There’s public parking nearby, too. Giancarlo, the host, was really kind and helpful, and gave us lots of advice on things to do in Gozo. Couldn’t have hoped for a better stay.

My sister and I stayed for two nights, and our only regret is not staying longer. Giancarlo put a lot of time and effort into making us comfortable, sharing local tips and restaurant suggestions. He even helped us get lunch and dinner reservations at some wonderful places on a busy weekend, which we wouldn’t have managed without him. One evening we went to watch the sunset at Dwejra Bay and missed the last bus. There were no taxis available, so we were stranded, but Giancarlo actually drove out to pick us up. What an incredible gesture. He’s a wonderful, hospitable person. His B&B is in a unique building with lovely rooms and a beautiful roof terrace overlooking the citadella, a great spot to sit in the evening. If you’re going to Gozo, you MUST stay at La Fenice!!!!
