The best part was waking up to the palm trees from my bed and having breakfast on the balcony overlooking Blue Bay. I spent almost five days here by myself, and the cute room felt really relaxing. The shared kitchen has what you need, and there’s a bathroom and separate shower downstairs. A few steps take you straight to the little bay beach, with plenty of restaurants serving local food nearby. Manoella was a lovely host. I’d recommend her guesthouse if you’re visiting Mauritius.

The owner was so lovely and helpful, and I’d happily stay here again. Our room had a balcony with a great sea view, while the shared bathroom was kept very clean. It’s only a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and buses or taxis. A wonderful place to stay in Blue Bay.

Manoella gave me such a warm welcome and shared lots of useful tips and recommendations. Villa Bella is right by the lovely Blue Bay beach, with direct access, and the balcony has a great view. My room was spacious and clean. Bus and taxi stops are nearby, as are some lovely restaurants. I’d highly recommend the villa and Manoella as a host.

I paid for a sea view, but what I ended up looking at was other guests sitting on the terrace. The host was friendly, but the rest of my stay was horrible. There are beach parties every night, and the place has no sound insulation, so it’s not somewhere to go for a quiet rest. Smoking isn’t allowed in the room, yet smoke from people on the terrace still came in, even with the doors and windows shut.

The beds were old spring mattresses and really uncomfortable, with sheets like you'd find in a hospital. The rooms were dirty, there was no privacy, and the bathrooms were shared. The hostess was lying on a couch in reception watching TV. This was advertised as a four-star place, but I wouldn’t give it half a star. I paid in full from South Africa, and Emmanuelle refused to refund me. I moved to ExplorerPrestige around the corner. Absolutely a scam, horrible place to stay.
