Pearle Beach Resort & Spa

There were plenty of beach sunbeds, so we never had to hurry to find a spot, and the view was lovely. Our room was cleaned daily and everything felt spotless. The food was a treat at every meal, too. From the minute we arrived, the staff made us feel at home. They were cheerful, helpful, and treated us like royalty. The service was amazing, and the team and management went out of their way to make the holiday special. It was our first visit to Mauritius, and Pearle Beach Resort and Spa made it unforgettable. The all-inclusive option was absolutely worth it for the food, drinks and convenience. We're already talking about coming back. Thank you!

The front office team, especially Luqman and Jessica, were very helpful. Staff in general are warm and attentive. The beachfront is lovely, and so is the swimming pool. Guests can use the glass-bottom boat, go snorkeling or kayak for free. The rooms are spacious and recently renovated, with enough supplies. Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are available. Pearle Beach Resort & Spa in Flic-en-Flac is often seen as a good-value resort in the 3.5 to 4-star range, with a prime spot on one of the island's best beaches.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the toilets, showers and changing areas were clean. Still, my day pass visit wasn't what I expected. We couldn't do sea activities because conditions were supposedly bad, yet we paid the same price, which was upsetting. There was a strong sewage smell around the property that made it unpleasant to sit for long. Flies were everywhere, especially where we ate, and sometimes even landed on the buffet food, with nothing being done about it. The buffet selection was limited, and desserts disappointed too. Since day passes are mostly used by Mauritians, I didn't expect the hotel to serve the same local dishes every day, such as lentils, stew or vindaye*.

Some employees work hard and seem happy to be there, and the hotel's service overall is good. But improvements are needed to meet the expected standards. The bar and restaurant areas are small, the rooms need maintenance, and food service can be slow. Some customers wait an hour or longer, which understandably makes them angry. The food could also be tastier, and staff with the right skills would help. I understand the hotel has spent a lot on renovation, but the needs of both tourists and Mauritian customers still matter. In my experience, one staff member repeatedly ignored customers and forgot to bring their drinks. There was no bottled water in the room either. I also think customer reviews collected by the hotel should be anonymous, so staff don't know who wrote them and customers aren't put in an awkward position.
