We stayed at the resort with my wife last week for a short, relaxing holiday. Its location is ideal, with a clean beach and open sea. Our room was quite spacious and had elegant tropical decor with cane furniture. The staff in general, and at reception, were supportive and courteous. I also enjoyed the Mauritian food festival with my Mauritian friend. Dinner was the weak point: the overall menu spread later on didn't meet what I expected from a four-star resort. I'd rate the location, room decor, service, and staff 5/5, but dinner service only 2/5.

Dinner was beautifully plated and just as tasty as breakfast, where there was loads to choose from, including fresh fruit, smoothies, and cooked or continental options. The room was lovely, though the bathroom felt worn and could use an update. We also enjoyed the evening music and the excellent little boutique shop. Veranda Grand Baie is a beautiful hotel in a great setting, and check-in was friendly. The bars, despite their superb surroundings, felt short on atmosphere.

The staff made us feel at home straight away, and everyone was warm and down to earth. We spent just over a week at Veranda Grand Baie and would happily return. The half-board meals had plenty of variety, with other restaurants available for lunch when we wanted a change. We enjoyed the glass-bottom boat outings, snorkeling, and hands-on Mauritian cooking. The Earth Day activities were especially memorable, and we learned a lot about restoring coral. Adore shared so much knowledge during those activities, and Stefan made yoga and workouts energetic and fun. A truly unforgettable stay.

After trying the rum tasting, we stayed on for dinner. The passion fruit rum was a standout, and the pineapple one was lovely too. There was a good range of Mauritian dishes, so we got to sample a bit of everything, and it was all delicious. The evening ended with traditional Sega music and dancing, which was the highlight of our holiday. The resort feels upscale while still relaxed. Thanks to Aurore and the whole staff for such an enjoyable evening. Highly recommend.

We spent our third wedding anniversary there for a day, and it was just WOW. The welcome was excellent, and the service was really good. Mr Nivesh and Mr Rishi were a big help, and Manager Miss Elodie came over to greet us and wish us a wonderful journey. The relaxed, festive feel made the visit special.
