We went looking for Chinese food and came across this place that serves only Dim Sum. It was about 7 pm, with the kitchen closing at 8, so we ordered a mix of dishes. Every item was excellent, and the staff were attentive while the service was quick. The prices were very good, and Dim Sum turned out to be surprisingly filling. Five stars, highly recommend. Going around 6-7 pm might help avoid the crowds, though the Dim Sum takes about 15 minutes to cook. At busy lunch times, it's already prepared and comes out quickly.

A practical, comfortable place to stay in Port Louis, with friendly staff and a helpful host who's clear about the rules. The rooms are spacious for what you pay, and the location is central. It's good value and feels safe, especially for travellers who want a straightforward stay instead of a resort.

The restaurant used to be called kimchi house, which was my regular spot whenever I was in port Louis, so I came back to visit. It now serves Dim Sum and a few other plates, but no rice or noodles. The food is high quality and fills you up fast. I ordered far too much because I thought the Dim Sum would be small, then had to pack some to take away. Faire gros lizier lor baz la 😂😅. It's clean, quiet, and comfortable, with a nice atmosphere and good service. Eating alone there feels fine.

The Rice Noodle Rolls and Sticky Rice with Chicken in Lotus Leaf were both delicious, and I left completely full. I went by myself and ordered just those two classic Cantonese Dim Sum dishes. Having grown up in Canton as a Cantonese person, I know what authentic tastes like. This is the most authentic Cantonese Dim Sum in town. Please keep it up, I'll come back whenever I'm in town!

Kirin is a lovely place to sit, clean and tidy, with nice decor and welcoming, polite staff. The prices are fair too. If you like Chinese dumplings, buns, and snacks, this hidden gem is worth a visit. The food quality is excellent, and some of it even compares with places in China. We loved it, especially the stuffed aubergines and chicken dumplings, both were delicious. I definitely recommend it.
