C Rodrigues Mourouk

The chef went out of the way to prepare an exceptional vegetarian meal for my sister and me. The staff were polite and welcoming, and when we asked to move closer to reception and the restaurant because our room was a bit far away, they sorted it out very quickly. We’d planned to stay at Mourouk for 3 nights, 4 days, but cyclonic conditions and no flights meant we extended by one more day. We enjoyed every minute at your esteemed hotel. Thank you, chef!

Our rooms were cosy and comfortable, just right for relaxing, and the whole family had a wonderful stay last week. The staff made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Big applause for the kitchen team, the food was delicious and full of local flavor. Such a nice setup for Christmas. Happy New Year 2026 to you all. We can’t wait to come back soon.

I liked the location, decor, layout, and overall infrastructure. It was a pleasant break at a beautiful property, and I’d consider coming back on my next trip to Rodrigues. The cocktails were excellent, and there’s a happy hour every day from 6pm to 7pm, though I found things a little pricey. Service could improve. When you sit in the bar area, by the pool, or at the beach, servers don’t take the initiative to bring menus or take orders, so you have to go to the bar yourself, which I found annoying. Breakfast was the same every day, and the evening buffet lacked variety, especially desserts, though everything was tasty.

I’ve been here 5 times already. We chose C Mourouk for its service and because the staff had been so polite and helpful on our previous visits. This time there were some new staff, and the service wasn’t at the level we’re used to. It felt more money minded. During happy hour, I was charged for beers that were supposed to be “buy one get one free.” I was also asked to pay a corkage fee even though we were drinking wine in our room. They said management changed some policies after an audit. I hope these were just rookie mistakes by the new staff. Otherwise, I hope management goes back to the old policies.
