La Terrasse

I left deeply disappointed and regret paying for this stay. The room was very dirty and needs a proper renovation. The kitchen was filthy, hygiene was poor, and the food, including dinner, was bad. I got diarrhea after eating it. Breakfast was the same repeatedly, and the children playing made so much noise at night that I couldn't sleep. The AC didn't work either. This was my first time in Rodrigues, and I didn't get what I expected. I wouldn't recommend going there.

The snorkel trips could have been better organised. The dinners were tasty local meals, and breakfast was fine. Downstairs, the room was comfortable and had a very large bathroom. There was also a private terrace, though a hammock would have been nice.

The meals were a real highlight: the food was delicious, and both breakfast and dinner were much more generous in quality and quantity than we expected. The Clair family welcomed us warmly and were helpful throughout the week, sharing sightseeing tips and advice on where to buy souvenirs. We stayed at La Terrasse for New Year 2021 and found it excellent value for money. From our bedroom, the view at 05:30 was amazing, looking over Mourouk beach and Port Sud est, and the sea was very close. Our room was always clean. We’d recommend La Terrasse for a holiday in Rodrigues.

I felt at ease from the warm welcome, and this is where I’d stay for a real Rodrigues experience. For me, travel means getting to know the region’s culture, people and food, and this place gave me that authenticity. Thank you.
