I spent 17 days here and found it a quiet hotel where I could work and enjoy my free time. Le Goulet beach is little known and much less crowded than some other beaches. You can get drinks in the nearby area at any hour, morning or night. The owners are really friendly and helpful. A great little holiday secret.

The one real plus is the beach view and the bus stop right opposite. Otherwise, this was a horrible stay. The guesthouse is tucked away, about 4 km from Port Louis bus centre, with no restaurant nearby. There are only small shops a kilometre away for snacks, and the owner plainly said we had to buy our own food when I asked about using the kitchen. There’s no kitchen service, Wi-Fi is weak in the room and only works in public areas, and no complimentary breakfast. In winter there’s no AC, just a small table fan. The room is cramped, barely enough for the bed, with no table, safe, or proper ceiling light, only a dim neon-type light. We got bedsheets only after asking. The owner seemed too busy and said rooms were full even when they appeared vacant. It felt like the aim was to take the full payment while spending as little as possible. When booking through Agoda or other sites, you have to pay everything before arrival, with no pay-at-property or refund option. Once paid, they didn’t seem concerned, and you’re stuck there even if the facilities aren’t what you expected.

We couldn’t stay there because the place seemed unhealthy, but they wouldn’t give us a refund. There was no way we were going to stay. Do not book this guest house.
