Résidence Potosi

We found it easy to explore from Residence Potosi, with the beach, shops and restaurants just a short walk away. The staff were warm and ready to help, and housekeeping kept the apartment clean with regular visits. We stayed seven days in an Apartment Double. It was spacious and well laid out, with a kitchen, sofa, TV, bathroom, storage, and a small separate room with a single bed. A comfortable, practical place, and we'd stay again on our next trip to Mauritius.

A simple hotel for tourists who don't need anything fancy. The rooms are nicely furnished, with basic kitchen gear and air conditioning. Its best feature is the location, just a two-minute walk from the beach. I'd recommend it.

The rooms are clean and airy, and the hotel is part of Palmiste Resort. It takes only a couple of minutes to walk to the beach, so the location is spot on. Hotel Manager Jay was especially helpful and wonderful, always willing to go out of his way for us. Highly recommend staying here.

The pool was small and basic, but very clean and nearly always empty. It often felt like we had it to ourselves, and the loungers were comfortable, with shade easy to find. The location was another strong point, close to shops, a bus stop, the beach (two minutes on foot) and plenty of good restaurants. After ten days, Residence Potosí had turned out better than I'd expected from its low rating, and the TUI deal had been hard to pass up. Our room was spacious, with a kitchen, balcony, a small separate room and air conditioning. We could just make out the sea between the houses across the road from our balcony. They cleaned every day except Sunday, though the balcony itself was left dusty and dirty. The kitchen was simply equipped with inexpensive items, but it had everything we needed. Mattresses were okay, while the worn bed linen could use replacing. The apartment lighting was very bright and artificial; warmer, softer bulbs would make it feel cozier. Passing cars could be noisy at night, but closing the balcony blinds, using the switch on the balcony, made it quiet. The shower worked fine, though its small window faces the hallway. Someone tall might be able to look in by standing on tiptoe, so be aware of that. The receptionist was rarely at the desk, as other reviews say, but it didn't cause us trouble. They were there for check-in and checkout, both of which went smoothly, and the guard at the gate was always available and happy to help. Residence Potosí is worth the price, especially if you plan to spend less time indoors or like cooking for yourself.
