Huvandhu Dhangethi

The trips were a highlight. With Tholal, we saw whale sharks, manta rays, turtles, stingrays, sharks, unusual fish, and eagle rays, including at quieter reef spots with fewer tourists. Most outings were private or in small groups, and for the whale shark trip it was just the two of us. We also went night fishing with Tholal and his friends, then had the fish cooked at the island’s restaurant. He took high-definition underwater photos and videos and sent them free by WhatsApp that evening. When we left, he gave us small souvenirs too. We stayed a week at Dangethi Inn. Tholal met us at the port, arranged the speedboat from Malé, drove us to the hotel in a small vehicle, and carried our bags to the room. He offered us a coconut to drink and Dangethi Inn T-shirts as soon as we arrived. The room was spacious, clean, and had sunscreen, mosquito repellent spray, a kettle, and beach towels. Towels were changed daily, and room cleaning was free on request. He also included a very convenient breakfast each morning. Tholal is kind, welcoming, and always around to help. His personal attention, from arrival through the excursions and the practical comforts in the room, made our Maldives holiday special. Tholal and his family treated us incredibly well, and we had an unforgettable stay. The hotel is very conveniently located near the sea, restaurants, local shops, and the harbor. It has a kitchen, fridge, washing machine, shared areas, and towels. The rooms are clean and kept up, with regular housekeeping. There’s space to hang wet clothes after a swim or snorkel, and guests can use snorkeling masks and fins. Tholal also arranged excellent boat trips. Our group of four was usually the only group out there, and we saw a whale shark, turtles, manta rays twice, sharks, and lively coral reefs. We also visited a sandbank and went fishing with local fishermen. He knows where to find marine life away from crowds, so we could enjoy it respectfully and privately. A great place to stay and take boat trips in Dhangethi, at a very reasonable price.

We had an up-close, unhurried encounter with whale sharks, with no crowds around. It was a small boat trip with just four guests and the owner, whose passion for the ocean was clear. He guided us himself and filmed the outing with his underwater camera. That evening, he sent us beautiful photos and videos for free, a lovely reminder of the day. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. For a personal, well-organized Maldives experience, I’d recommend it completely.

Ahmed’s warmth was one of the brightest parts of our trip. He’s cheerful, genuine, and so kind. He met us at the harbor, arranged our transfer, gave us souvenirs and T-shirts, and offered a welcome drink. From the start, we felt looked after. His excursions were unforgettable: we searched for whale sharks, manta rays, and turtles, then got to swim beside a giant whale shark, watch the graceful mantas, and see turtles up close. We’ll remember those moments for the rest of our lives. The island felt like a tropical paradise, with turquoise water, white sand, cozy streets, and a welcoming, peaceful atmosphere. It felt like home. Breakfast at the guesthouse was simple and tasty, just right before a day out. The ocean is about 200 meters away, and restaurants are around 300 meters away.
