NH Maldives Kuda Rah Resort

Leaving NH, we had hearts full of lovely memories, and we’re so grateful to the team for making our stay memorable. We’ve traveled to many countries and stayed in wonderful places, but this one was remarkable in every way. It was our special day, and NH made it feel perfect. The food team took wonderful care of us. Mr Lushanth incharge from the F&B and his restaurant team made sure we were well looked after, and he and chef Rubel arranged vegetarian options for us, including dishes that weren’t on the menu. The floating breakfast he sent was the best, such a thoughtful touch. Putu, Aung, Dinda Ibbe Prabas brought so much energy and cheer, and surprised us by decorating our dinner table with anniversary wishes. Bartenders Akbar and Shamith made us lovely drinks. Akbar is a great mixologist, and when they learned it was our wedding anniversary, they surprised us with chilled champagne. The spa manager Ingon and masseuse Rena were kind, hardworking, and excellent at their jobs. We did miss having couple spa services, since their other masseuse was on leave. The cleaning staff kept our room spotless and handled everything at any time of day or night. They also made a beautiful anniversary bed arrangement, and we’re thankful to the whole cleaning department. From our arrival at the airport until we boarded our return flight, staff were attentive to every detail. Simah greeted us at the airport, explained the seaplane transfer, and was there to see us off. Lisa from front desk was resourceful and helpful, looking after us from when we arrived by seaplane until our return departure. Special mention to El and Miriam, too. Mr Ikoo, the resort manager, was another gem. He was intuitive, hardworking, forthcoming, and took care of all our needs. He’s the rock behind the whole setup. Thanks again, Mr Ikoo, for all the care. You run a fantastic place!

We had chosen this resort for our first anniversary and hoped for a memorable luxury stay. Instead, it became one of our most stressful travel experiences. The trouble began as we were leaving: resort staff accidentally switched our suitcase with someone else’s luggage when the seaplane arrived. At the airport we realized the bag wasn’t ours and immediately contacted the hotel POC, who kept insisting it belonged to us. After almost two hours of confusion and back-and-forth, they found our actual suitcase still at the hotel desk. We had international flights to catch, but nobody seemed to show urgency or concern. Communication afterward was very poor, and the team showed no empathy. They said they’d send the luggage to our home. We needed confirmation for insurance and travel purposes, so asked for a simple email acknowledgment, but even that took over two hours. As our flight time got closer, we repeatedly explained how serious this was and asked for immediate help. Mariam from the hotel said, “I’m going to cut your call,” then did exactly that. She stopped answering our calls and WhatsApp messages. We had to involve airport police ourselves, and only after about six hours did we get our luggage back. Mistakes can happen, but how staff deal with them matters. The lack of accountability, communication, empathy, and professionalism ruined what should have been a special anniversary trip. I’d advise future guests to be cautious with transfers and luggage handling.

I spent 10 nights at NH Kuda Rah, and Ikoo, Front Office Manager, was very attentive and clearly wanted guests to have a lovely stay. He greeted me with a Pina Colada on arrival and offered a complimentary upgrade to a Duplex Beach Suite, thank you! The island is small and quiet, close to Dhigurah local island, known for its long beach and sand bank, with lovely dive spots nearby. Snorkeling on the house reef brought lots of fish and some big sharks. There are plenty of day and evening excursions, and they even arrange lovely beach dinners included in half board. The breakfast buffet has a nice selection, with a la carte egg dishes included and cooked to order. The coffee is really good. Dinner offers four menus, fish, meat, vegetarian, and Indian, and you can also choose items from the menus. Both breakfast and dinner were fresh and delicious. A lovely stay, thank you!

Breakfast was fresh and nicely presented, with plenty of variety, and the restaurant team stayed friendly and attentive even when it was busy. There weren’t many Indian vegetarian choices, but they made an effort to prepare something Indian vegetarian so we’d feel welcome. Bayezhid from housekeeping kept our room spotless, organized, and refreshed on time. He also made some special things for kids, wohooo! The front desk staff were efficient and professional, and happy to help with requests. They offered useful local tips and accommodated us readily. From our warm welcome on arrival onward, the whole team made us feel comfortable. We had a fantastic stay at NH Hotel and would gladly return. The service and hospitality exceeded our expectations.
