Turtle Maldives

We were especially pleased with how easy the staff made the transfers. They arranged a convenient speedboat from Male airport and back. They were warm and helpful, and even surprised us with a lovely complimentary dinner on the beach. My wife and I stayed four nights in this new, clean guesthouse. Our standard room had enough space, and the WiFi, hot and cold water, and air conditioning all worked perfectly. We ate dinner each night at Turtle Garden next door. Its menu had Maldivian, Indian, and European dishes, all enjoyable and good quality. Breakfast there was a tasty, adequate buffet. The hotel also lends snorkeling gear for free, though we had our own. The local reef at the far end of the island was interesting but a little tricky because the corals are close to the surface, especially at low tide. There is a safe route through the shallow area. Snorkeling from the jetty was easier, with lots of different coral fish. People toss some food waste into the water there, which attracts many harmless stingrays and nurse sharks, so swimming and filming around the jetty can be a unique experience. It's a ten-minute walk from the hotel. The bikini beach is about a hundred meters away. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend it.

I didn't stay at Turtle Maldives, but after the speedboat company never replied, I contacted the hotel because its directions for getting to Omadhoo were so helpful. The host went out of their way to help us reach the island, seemingly just because they wanted us to experience Omadhoo. If the stay is anything like that generous, thoughtful help, I'd recommend the place without hesitation. Thanks again so much.

We were six adults and two children, aged 4 and 2, and spent three nights at Turtle Maldives. The staff were lovely and always ready to help. They met us at the harbor, brought all our luggage to the hotel, and welcomed us with some thoughtful touches. Our rooms were spacious, with large beds and handy terraces, and had everything we needed. There were complimentary drinks in the shared areas, including water, coffee, and tea. The location right by Bikini Beach was hard to beat. We ate all our meals at the restaurant next door, and both the food quality and prices were very good. The staff were kind and welcoming throughout our six-day stay, and the receptionist was especially attentive and did their best with our questions and requests. Housekeeping kept the room clean, and we really liked the breakfast buffet, which had pancakes, eggs, beans, and other choices. Omadhoo itself is beautiful and well worth visiting. Even so, we tried to enjoy the holiday despite some real disappointments with the accommodation. We were assigned Room 103. It was a small, dark room with a window right beside the bed that looked straight into the lobby. We had to keep the curtains shut for privacy, which meant no natural daylight. That might have been manageable for a night or two, but over six days it was uncomfortable. The booking photos showed rooms that looked bright, clean, and spacious, and had we known ours would be so different, we wouldn't have booked. The bathroom had hot water from the handheld showerhead only, not the overhead one. The water also smelled unpleasant during the first few days, though staff fixed that while we were there. We found the accommodation pleasant at first, but the room we got was a major letdown, and the price didn't feel like a fair match for what we received. We also wouldn't book excursions through the accommodation because of the very high prices, not because of their quality. Since we're in the Maldives for a month, we could compare rates: a manta ray or whale shark trip was offered at $300 per person. On Omadhoo, HITHA Tours offers excellent trips for around $100 per person. For fishing, OMADHOO BEACH CLUB is a good option, with a 3-hour trip for $25-35 per person and a very friendly captain.
