Breakfast was a real standout, so complete and such good quality, and the restaurant’s other food was premium enough that we didn’t want to eat elsewhere. The team made sure we were comfortable the whole time, and we’d love to return to Akomadoo Retreat. It’s a peaceful, modern, clean hotel right across from the beach on Kamadhoo. From the professional reservation process, including our last-minute requests, to the smooth departure, everything went easily. We were met at the jetty with fresh towels and refreshing drinks. Our room was spacious, with all the amenities close at hand, a huge bathroom with helpful mirrors, and a very comfortable bed. The simple design looked lovely. It’s one of the most comfortable places we’ve stayed on a local island. Thank you, team Akomadoo, for a memorable stay. I’ve attached some photos for you to see.

The food was the biggest highlight for me. It was fresh and delicious, with just-right portions and presentation that made everything tempting before the first bite. My favourite was the tuna steak with fries, though you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My mom and I stayed at this aptly named retreat for a few days in July, and the whole visit was one for the books. The rooms are huge, with a coffee machine and kettle, the beds were so comfy we struggled to get up each morning, and the very spacious bathroom had anything you might have forgotten to pack. We hadn’t experienced this level of service and attention to detail on a local island before. Rough weather meant we went by seaplane, landing at the nearby Four Seasons resort in 30-40 minutes, then taking a short 10-minute speedboat ride to Kamadhoo. Between the little beaches and the excellent service at Akomadoo Retreat, everything was 10/10. We can’t wait to go back, and I’d definitely recommend staying here.
