Dusit Thani Maldives Resort

We were able to enjoy our stay once the team quickly and professionally sorted out a few small problems at the beginning. Their response made a real difference. After that, the friendly, genuine service and the staff’s care and attention to detail stood out throughout our visit. The boutique hotel has a lovely atmosphere and feels comfortable and welcoming. We’d definitely recommend it.

The house reefs were a highlight, full of colorful fish and a few turtles, and each snorkeling session felt magical. Dusit Thani Maldives brings together Thai warmth and Maldivian beauty in a way that feels personal. I can’t wait to return. Dinner at The Bunkering became our nightly ritual. As a Thai person, I found the authentic Thai food outstanding, possibly some of the best I’ve had outside Thailand. Khun Rungnapa and her team made each meal special with excellent service. Lunch at Sea Grill was another treat, with delicious food and stunning ocean views. Breakfast had a fantastic range of freshly prepared international and Asian dishes, beautifully presented. I was in one of the spacious water villas, nicely appointed and comfortable as well as luxurious. Finding my favorite brand, Diptyque, in the bathroom was a small detail that made a big difference. Returning to Dusit Thani Maldives always feels like coming home, and the gracious Thai hospitality shows in the welcome and thoughtful touches throughout the stay.

Levi made our six days at Dusit Thani feel especially welcoming. From our arrival, she was kind, professional and attentive, always ready to help with requests and thoughtful suggestions. She helped plan our itinerary, responded quickly when we needed something and checked in to see how we were doing. Her genuine care made us feel valued, and her service reflected the high standards Dusit Thani is known for. We’re grateful to Levi for going above and beyond and making the stay so memorable. We’d recommend Dusit Thani, especially for the excellent butler service from Levi, and look forward to coming back!

The reef is amazing, a real Maldivian paradise. We snorkeled daily between the dive centre and Sala restaurant, and it was exceptional, though I think that stretch is better for experienced swimmers. There was current and quite a big swell most days. The lagoon was calmer, with a few nurse and reef sharks. The pool is beautiful and larger than it looks, especially lovely at sunset. The market restaurant had a great buffet, and both the Thai restaurant and grill restaurant were fantastic. Our rooms were spacious, clean, well furnished and functional, and I loved the garden shower. The bicycles were a nice touch for getting around. The gym is basic and could use updates, but we managed to train there daily. The arrival experience let the resort down. We’d stayed at Constance Moofushi and JW Marriot before, and the service on arrival here was far below those resorts and not in line with Dusit Thani. We paid $500 each through Dusit Thani for the seaplane, which is very expensive, though Moofushi is similar. Then we were asked for another $50 for overweight baggage because they weighed our hand luggage and handbags. Dusit Thani had never told us about the baggage rules or process. If we’d known, we could have organized the weight differently. A representative showed us to a regular bus to the seaplane terminal, nothing like Moofushi or JW Marriot. We were left there to figure out that the overweight fee had to be paid before getting boarding passes, then had to find the Dusit Thani resort lounge ourselves and serve ourselves refreshments and snacks. That first impression fell well short of the class and care we experienced later. The later stay was lovely. Staff were professional, kind and very friendly. Our butler Saleem was top notch, gentle and patient, and very well suited to the role. Olivia, the executive chef, was welcoming and brilliant, and the food was great. The bar staff were personable too. We really loved our time here and I can’t recommend it enough.
