NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort

We loved how quiet and intimate the resort felt, with good restaurants and a pleasant atmosphere. The beach bar was a favorite, with excellent cocktails and a lovely spot to unwind by the water. The island itself is beautiful, surrounded by incredible water and marine life. You can walk from one side to the other in about 15 minutes. We had an amazing time at NH Collection Maldives Havodda Resort and would recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful Maldivian escape and a chance to slow down.

The island is beautiful, and snorkeling let us see turtles, dolphins, and lots of colorful fish. But the people are what made the resort special. Sandeep was my favorite. He told us dolphins can be spotted from the bar in the morning, always had a cold, fresh coconut ready, and kept finding ways to make our stay better. Diana at reception always asked how my day had gone, and Majid made sure we were fed and looked after. Reefa’s kindness and positive energy rubbed off on everyone. Smiti remembered exactly how I like my coffee, and Dilu’s massages felt healing and unforgettable. Alla brought a smile to each day, while Valentin made us feel welcome right from the start. Thanks to the whole team for making this such a wonderful, memorable stay.

I stayed Jan 27th - Jan 31st 20206. The overwater bungalow and service were amazing. Rashed kept our room spotless and stocked, and we were very grateful. The Pool Bar Server and all the restaurant staff gave us 10 star service. I was amazed by how well we were treated. My one star is for the last day. At around 8pm the night before, we were told our seaplane transfer was at 11am, which wouldn’t leave enough time for our 1pm flight. The front desk said they’d update us in the morning and would try for 9am. Then at 6:20am I got a text saying the seaplane was at 7am. I’d only just woken up. We begged for more time and they managed to move it to 7:30am. At checkout I was charged 3600$ USD, even though our resort stay had already been paid through our travel agency. They couldn’t reach Suhasini when we asked them to call her. I was told they’d follow up with her and refund us. I’ve called and emailed the resort many times, but no one has contacted me. The travel agency keeps saying we should be refunded, but I still haven’t heard from the resort.

The New Year celebration was a joke and spoiled the night. They burned a few coconut leaves, then abruptly ended things, with no fireworks, lively music, or atmosphere. The extra-cost feast wasn’t remotely worth its price. We could see a much better celebration at a nearby resort before returning to our room full of bugs. Our room was in poor shape, with bugs everywhere, especially in the washroom, and bedsheets that were dirty and torn. When we complained, staff told us to “embrace the bugs” because it was a “nature resort.” That might suit a budget eco-lodge, but not a place calling itself five-star. The service felt poor and unfriendly. Kesna, whose name I may have misspelled, was especially rude and dismissive when we raised feedback during billing. Food was below average and there wasn’t much variety. They advertise free water but supply only one 2-liter bottle a day, with refills costing extra. The resort is very remote, the boat ride is rough, amenities are poor, and the property feels dated. “Reethi Time,” an hour ahead of Maldives time, effectively means an early checkout. We’ve stayed at many resorts in the Maldives, and none disappointed us this much. Reethi Resort was one of our worst experiences anywhere. We regret choosing it and strongly advise others to look elsewhere. It absolutely doesn’t feel like a five-star resort.
