Three Hearts Guesthouse

Three Hearts Guesthouse and Villas felt like a little paradise, with calm lagoon water, a peaceful atmosphere, and easy access to excursions. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the fresh fish and even the steak were outstanding, and the staff made us feel like family. A lovely way to experience the Maldives away from the big resorts. Highly recommend.

We stayed at three hearts Hotel in **Fulhadhoo. The hotel owner was friendly too, but the way Elvira communicated and handled problems clearly affected our overall experience. Before arrival, we were coordinating our pick-up while on a plane, so we couldn't check the information carefully in real time. In her replies, the owner repeatedly stressed that "the same question was asked 2-3 times" and sounded impatient and blaming. This happened before any other problem, and made us concerned about the service that would follow. During our stay, we used the hotel's rental paddle board normally. When we noticed cracks, we reported them right away and offered to cover part of the cost. The owner's wife replied, "It looks like you are trying to find the reason do not pay damage fee." That felt hurtful and disrespectful. To avoid a conflict, we paid the full amount. I'd advise future guests to check rental equipment carefully for its condition and safety before using it. We also left a low score for the restaurant on Google Maps and then received unnecessary accusations and moral judgments. That further showed how poorly communication was handled. The issue itself wasn't the worst part, but the way it was dealt with mattered just as much. I hope future guests are aware, and that the hotel communicates more kindly in similar situations.

The island itself was incredibly peaceful and beautiful, and it stayed uncrowded even in high season. We'd gladly return to the island, but next time we'd pick another hotel because the guest service here didn't meet our expectations. Our family room was spacious and the beds were comfortable, but the air conditioner never managed to cool the room fully, even at full power with fans on. Several times we also got a strong sewer gas smell from the bathroom. Breakfast changed daily, though guests weren't told ahead what would be served. We had noted a gluten allergy, but the choices were very limited. When we asked about something simple like eggs and fruit, the response felt defensive instead of accommodating. Dinner at the guest house was frustrating too. Many dishes couldn't be made because ingredients were missing or the oven was broken, but nobody told us in advance. Other island restaurants handled that better, so we ate elsewhere. The Thai restaurant was excellent. We were also charged extra for small amounts of ketchup after being given very little at first, and eventually bought our own bottle from the island shop. The owner could seem reserved, and a few times we were asked to come back later for payment or reservations. It wasn't a major issue by itself, but gave us the impression guests were expected to work around the owner's terms.

Three Hearts was a true gem, and the island was amazing, with the best beach we've ever been to, even compared with luxurious resorts. The vibe was great and people were so friendly. We spent six nights there, including New Year, and loved everything about the hotel. Our wonderful, friendly hosts made sure we got the most from our stay. The excursions were great too. We saw mantas, turtles, dolphins, sharks and thousands of fish. On the fishing trip, the kids got more fish than they could have dreamed of before we headed back to the island.
