The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort

We came to The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort for our honeymoon and wanted a slow, relaxing trip instead of a packed itinerary. That worked out perfectly. We tried the DIY face mask session and cooking demo, and we were the only ones there, haha. The daily activities were available if we wanted them. The dolphin cruise was part of our package, and we were lucky enough to see dolphins. One early morning I thought I spotted some from our room too, though I couldn't be sure. Hopefully they weren't sharks, haha. My husband snorkeled under our villa while I stayed inside because I can't swim and was too scared, even with the life jackets in the room. Seeing fish through the glass floor was surreal. We ate so much every day that we definitely gained weight. The bartenders surprised my husband with cocktails on most evenings, and they were so good. We loved the live music at Island Kitchen as well. Our package included a 30-minute spa and a 30-minute photoshoot. The massage was so good I fell asleep, and the photos turned out really nice despite my windblown hair. I hadn't planned to pay extra, but I ended up buying the digital photos anyway, haha. I'm not much of a nature or insect person, so bees outside the villa made me panic and run indoors. On a jog I saw a blue carpenter bee near the sunset villa area and got scared. I learned more about bees on this honeymoon than ever before. Hassan and the whole team made us feel welcome from arrival through departure. The hospitality was amazing, and we're glad we picked Westin. We'd absolutely recommend it and hope to return to the Maldives one day. 🤍

The house reef is a real highlight here. There was vibrant marine life right off the resort, and the scuba diving was excellent. The dive center felt professional, safe, and very well run. Iyaan was one of the best dive masters we've ever gone diving with anywhere. His knowledge, calm manner, attention to detail, and love of the ocean made each dive special. This was our third stay at the Westin Maldives, and we already can't wait to come back again. The villas and pristine beaches are beautiful, and the atmosphere makes it easy to relax. More than anything, the team makes you feel remembered as well as welcome. Deepak and his team made everything smooth before we arrived, and that care carried through arrival, the stay, and departure. Every detail felt personal and genuinely warm. Coming back for a third time says plenty. Highly, highly recommended.

Six days and three meals a day, and every meal was a hit. All three island restaurants had great food, from burgers and wraps to poke bowls and Asian street food, plus the omakase chef's meal at Pearl restaurant. Right now I'm writing from the Westin beach bar, where the cocktails are fabulous. The bartenders cut and press fresh ingredients in front of you, and the rotating team is so lovely. The beach is pristine and looks out over all those shades of blue in the Maldivian ocean. There's plenty to do, whether that's snorkeling among countless fish, eagle rays and reef sharks, jetskiing, relaxing by your private pool, taking an excursion, or just having real R&R. But the staff are the best part. They're such kind, sweet, caring people, and they made our stay. We couldn't recommend this place more for a luxurious but laid-back experience. Five stars didn't feel like enough.

The food was only average for the price, but we still had an excellent stay over our four nights at the Westin. Our room was amazing, with a lovely outdoor bathroom and direct sea access. Snorkeling beside the villa was fantastic, with wonderful marine life to see. There was a good range of activities, from sports to a sushi-making class, and the Turtle Quest was especially great. We also enjoyed the spa, though it was a bit pricey, and our complimentary photoshoot turned out beautifully.
