Fehendhoo Stay

Naeenbe was an incredibly kind and helpful host, more caring than anyone I’ve encountered before. He arranged lots of activities at reasonable prices: a picnic on a beautiful deserted island, night fishing on the beach under the stars, diving and octopus hunting, and a visit to a nearby island with one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. We felt safe with him throughout the trip, almost like he was a good uncle. His wife cooked dinner for us every evening, and the food was DELICIOUS. Everything was fresh, portions were huge, and we could ask for what we wanted. It felt like he wanted us to eat well, not just spend money. Meals were served for the group on big platters. When we stayed on a nearby island for a few days, Naeenbe even came by boat to pick us up for dinner and take us back. We were happy to eat with him because the food was best there and he was so generous. I spent 5 days at Fehendhoo Stay with friends. It’s a small hotel on an intimate local island. The rooms were average, and we had occasional plumbing problems in the bathrooms. They weren’t cleaned regularly either. I can’t say whether it’s cultural, but I’ve found that many Maldives hotels and guesthouses don’t clean rooms daily like places in Europe. Those drawbacks were outweighed by the good parts, and that’s why I gave Fehendhoo Stay 5 stars. The surroundings, food and activities made for a memorable holiday. Naeenbe made sure we had an authentic Maldivian experience and treated us like family. I left feeling I’d made a good friend. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a distinctive local stay, and I’d gladly return.

Usham, the guesthouse manager, was attentive and quick to sort out guests’ questions. He runs the place with his brother Saddam. They can arrange activities you can imagine, and delicious meals are available on request. You can also get catering from the house owner’s family, from Naeen. The island is clean, with little beaches along the south side and spectacular sunsets, just like you’d expect in... Maldives. Great experience, with excellent service and communication.

The seaside dinner the Guesthouse arranged for us was an incredible experience. I also loved how welcoming everyone was, from the friendly, helpful staff to the lovely islanders. My room was neat and comfortable, with a hot shower, and the food was delicious. They helped arrange my trip to Fehendhoo Stay, too. I had a great time and hope to return soon. I recommend it.
