Daisy Cottage Dhangethi

The owners were very helpful during our stay and arranged things for both our arrival and departure. We were the first guests at Daisy Cottage after it reopened under new management in Feb 2021, and I’d be happy to stay there again. The newer rooms were spacious and comfortable. The garden was full of beautiful plants and flowers, and Bikini Beach was just a few minutes away. Breakfast was filling and tasty each day, and the owners were flexible about what they served. They were also able to accommodate my travel companion’s vegan diet.

The location is hard to beat: the guesthouse is nearly on the beach, and in about 20 seconds on foot you’re standing in the sea. Bikinibeach takes two minutes to reach, and restaurants are about one or two minutes away. We loved having breakfast in the cute garden every morning, surrounded by fruit trees and jungle plants. We stayed four nights and really enjoyed it. The owner was very kind and happy to answer our questions. They also arrange different activities, including snorkeling tours, sunset trips, and whale shark spotting. The trips were good quality and well priced.

Shaamyn made us feel at home every morning, and the garden was peaceful and full of greenery. There was even a great ara parrot to welcome us. We stayed at daisy cottage for a week, and the room was lovely. The tours Shaamyn organized were the best part. He was caring, involved, and flexible, doing his best to fit a full day of different activities in: snorkeling with mantas or whalesharks and around coral reefs, fishing, lunch on the beach bank, or even camping and BBQ. We recommend this place! =)

Please ignore the fake 1-star spam reviews. Mine is genuine, and you can verify it on booking.com because I stayed there too. Shaamyn is a genuinely friendly host. His parents help as well, and although he had only just started running the guesthouse, he was doing a brilliant job, bringing great ideas and putting his heart into the place. Before we arrived, communication was smooth and we got help with everything. Nothing seemed impossible to arrange. We were welcomed so warmly that we felt part of the family and at home. Playing cards and having coffee with Shaamyn and his friends was a lot of fun and made the stay more special. We were also surprised with a Sandbank trip, photoshoothing, and dinner as a gift, which we really valued. The whole experience was much more than we expected, and great fun. The guesthouse is a gem, set in a jungle-like garden on a pretty island. It’s a lovely place to relax and get the real vibe of the island. You can feel that the place has a soul and that the owners are good-hearted people. They don't mention it, but twin rooms are available, which can be handy when travelling with friends.
