The staff were polite, honest, and helpful. They acknowledged our concerns, cancelled the booking, and helped arrange a refund through Agoda. That was the only good part of our stay at Salt Beach Hotel, because good staff couldn't make up for how badly run the property was. Our room smelled awful and was dirty, with stained, unhygienic sheets. The AC barely worked and leaked water, while the fan was completely out of order. The furniture was just as bad: the side tables and wardrobes looked like random pieces of plywood nailed together and hardly held up. Nothing felt sturdy or safe, let alone like hotel furniture. The room was in such poor shape that we couldn't stay even one night. We checked out within an hour and booked somewhere nearby that was far better for cleanliness and comfort. The staff also said these complaints come up repeatedly and that the owner doesn't fix the problems. They knew many guests had raised the same issues before, but the hotel keeps operating despite its condition. Calling Salt Beach Hotel “luxury” is misleading and feels close to false advertising. We also saw a major red flag after the fact: the hotel wasn't listed on the Maldives Immigration website. That made the place seem fishy, and our stay only confirmed that feeling. Avoid it if hygiene, comfort, transparency, or peace of mind matter to you. Maafushi has better choices.

I was asked to pay extra for a room change, even though the problems weren't my fault. When I brought up the poor condition of the room, the staff were dismissive instead of trying to sort it out. There were obvious maintenance issues that shouldn't be present in a guest room, and from the moment I arrived, everything felt below an acceptable standard. The service and attitude made the stay very unpleasant. It was one of my worst hotel experiences. Don't spoil your vacation here. I wouldn't recommend the property to anyone seeking comfort, professionalism, or basic hospitality.

Salt Beach was a nice budget friendly place to stay in the maldives. We liked the room, the free breakfast was good, and the staff were helpful and attentive. We also booked tours through their tour company and really enjoyed them!

There was mold in our room, and when we asked for another one, he just said it wasn't possible without even checking. Even if every room was taken, how could they offer guests a room like that? It's a health risk. The rest of the place wasn't clean either. Ew, never again.

The hotel sits right in the heart of the island, close to restaurants, shops, and the bikini beach. The excursions they arranged were unforgettable, especially swimming with sharks and watching dolphins. The food was delicious too. Our room was spotless and had a beautiful ocean view. The staff were so kind and hospitable. They woke us when we overslept one morning, and another day, when we couldn't make breakfast, they prepared a lunchbox for us on request. I truly can't imagine choosing anywhere else, and I'm already looking forward to coming back!
