We arrived on June 4 to find out that our two rooms had been cancelled. We’d booked during the first week of May 2025 and paid by May 29, but a staff member said the money would be refunded within two weeks. With the place fully booked that day, finding another hotel was really difficult. We also saw two staff members sleeping outside in the dining area, without mattresses. If customers aren’t treated kindly, at least the staff should be. The two staff we met were very kind and welcoming, though. I wouldn’t recommend this Guesthouse.

Pelican beach is on the quieter side of the island, and the owner was nice and gave us good guidance. The room was basic, and the facilities are nothing special, so keep expectations modest. It was a good experience for what we paid.

The quiet side of the island suited us well in the evenings. We’d go out for activities, which were about a five-minute walk away, then come back to relax. The whole island is small enough to cover on foot in around 10 minutes, and any spot on maafushi was just 3-5 minutes away. It’s a nice area for a night walk too. Our room and breakfast were both good, and the stay felt economical, not like a waste of money. It worked perfectly for us 😁

Our host Rehuman was especially friendly and humble, and helped us plan a local Maldive itinerary. We had a great time in Maldives, and Pelican beach made us feel welcome. We stayed seven nights; the rooms were clean and roomy, with a good sea view from our window. Breakfast was included and mostly continental, and there was coffee available from the machine all the time. 😊🙏

That little garden at the entrance was a lovely place to have breakfast each morning, with those turquoise Maldives waters in view. We spent five nights here and found the rooms clean and equipped with everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help. We couldn't have picked a better place to enjoy Maafushi.
