Crystal Sands Villa

We found this place after our own hotel's breakfast ended at 9, spotting its buffet sign while walking along the street. We hadn't stayed here, but the breakfast was a real surprise: loads of dishes to choose from, and they made eggs fresh. The service was very nice and polite too. Best breakfast on Maafushi.

The team at Crystal Sands Hostel, Maafushi made us feel welcome and comfortable, from reception through to the chefs and housekeeping. We did have a few small problems with the water tap and TV at first, but each one was dealt with right away. I also stayed on a private island, but Crystal Sands still left me with such a good impression that I'd confidently recommend it to anyone visiting Maafushi. The owner is lucky to have such a hardworking, dedicated team. I'd definitely choose Crystal Sands again.

The staff were friendly, which was the one good part. The room was small and nothing like the online photos, and the price felt high for what we got. The food was poor too. On top of that, the bathroom smelled bad and noise from outside carried right into the room. I paid for five nights but couldn't manage more than two because of the smell and noise. Very disappointing.

The balcony had a good view, and the hotel is close to Maafushi Jetty ghat with the beach visible from there. But the rooms are small, there wasn't much choice in the food, and the staff forgot that we'd told them about our anniversary. Apart from the location, I didn't find anything useful.
