Island Life Maldives Retreat & Spa

The home-cooked local food was simple and delicious, and manager Dinusha took such thoughtful care of everything. From getting off the plane through the trip back, the details were handled, which made the stay feel personal in a way that's hard to find. I stayed at Island Life Maldives Retreat and Spa for the quiet, and it was just right for an introvert. The resort faces the water, with a secluded, peaceful beach. At night there are only soft waves to hear, and on clear evenings the sky is full of stars. It felt magical. I'm already thinking about coming back, this time with a tripod to photograph the island under a full moon. I can't recommend it enough to anyone looking for a serene escape.

We had a peaceful, enjoyable family stay, thanks in large part to the helpful, accommodating service. The guesthouse was happy to arrange transport when we wanted it, though walking to the other side of the island was also easy and not far. There was a lovely ocean view from almost everywhere. Because of recent government landscaping, though, getting into the water meant going to the other side. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and we settled in easily. I was very satisfied with the vacation.

The local dishes were delicious, and the meals came with fresh juice made from just-picked fruit. The rooms were luxurious, clean, and tidy, and the team were warm, polite, helpful, and easy to communicate with. They speak good English and made everything simpler. The island was peaceful and had a friendly atmosphere. From the private beach, we could swim in a clear kayak and see corals, fish, and turtles. If you're braver, you can swim out a few metres, dive, and explore the underwater world with its beautiful fish and turtles. The hotel team can also arrange trips to lovely places, provide equipment, and lend a hand when needed. Afterward, there are massages available, including one for sunburn. I tried that after my skin turned red, as happens to a European, hehe. Island Life Maldives Retreat and Spa made for a dream trip, with wonderful moments and amazing excursions. Dinusha's island guidance and support were especially great. His advice even led me to change my meal plan. The food and place were really good, and the newly built family room had plenty of space. I came with my 10-month-old baby, and the staff, especially Dinusha, helped with everything I needed. Everyone on staff was good, and the island's people were very friendly. I'd like to visit again, and thank you, Team, for taking good care of us. The one downside was that construction on the island kept us from enjoying the beach-front feel we'd expected.
