Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa

The island’s clear water, white sand, and underwater life made it a beautiful place to spend time. Snorkeling from the beach was a highlight, and we were lucky enough to spot dolphins. Our son loved the kids’ activities, so there was plenty for the whole family to enjoy. The spa, water sports, and other facilities were also well maintained and added some fun and relaxation. We stayed for 10 days with our son and wife. The overwater villa was spacious, modern, spotless, and had wonderful turquoise ocean views. Waking up to the sound of the sea was lovely, and housekeeping was thoughtful every day. Meals were a treat, with plenty of local and international choices, fresh seafood, and a varied breakfast. From arrival, we felt welcome. Check-in was smooth, and everyone we met, from reception and housekeeping to the restaurant team, was friendly, professional, and attentive. We came home happy and rested, with lots of memories, and would gladly return to Emerald Resort & Spa.

The food was a real highlight. Chef Siyadh prepared dishes with care and creativity, and the quality went beyond what we expected. KD also deserves thanks for the organization and consistency across the dining experiences. We especially enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere at Beach Grill, which Areej, Beach Grill Manager, helped create with warm, impeccable service. Our villa host, Shafi, was kind, professional, and always attentive. We felt looked after from the first day, and the team’s care made lasting memories for us. We’re grateful as well for the chance to meet Mr. Rohit Chhettri, General Manager. His genuine concern for guests and leadership show in the resort’s details. Emerald Maldives brought warmth and care to our stay, and we hope to visit again.

The food was wonderful at every restaurant, and executive chef Alok Verma was often around checking that guests were enjoying their meals. He even made us a special butter chicken using a family-taught recipe from the original restaurant in Delhi that made it. The staff are what really make the resort stand out. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, greeting us like a friend. Our rooms were large and nicely equipped, with cleaning and maintenance twice a day. And the Maldives setting is hard to match. Five stars doesn’t feel like enough. For a holiday with good food and such friendly staff, this is hard to beat.

The service stayed warm and polite from our first day to our last, and that’s what made this January 2026 honeymoon at Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa feel so memorable. We met general manager Rohit Chhettri at the management cocktail event at Sunset beach. He asked how things were going and congratulated us. Our honeymoon package also included a dolphin cruise, where we spotted dolphins, a photoshoot, and an hour-long couples massage. There were plenty of excursions to choose from. We loved the food and drinks, from the Gala Dinners to the first sitting at Teppanyaki at Le Asiatique. At breakfast in Aqua, Chef OM greeted us with a smile before we ordered Eggs Royale, and Giri was always a pleasure to see and gave us great service. Our room cleaner, Mahaara, was cheerful and always checked if we needed anything else. He was a Manchester United fan, though! Pata, our villa host, met us on arrival, showed us around the island, and pointed out the tennis and padel courts, fitness centers, Spa, and four restaurants. We were thrilled with our water villa. There was prosecco on ice when we arrived, plus bicycles, a huge bathroom, a roomy walk-in wardrobe, and a glorious balcony for relaxing and sunbathing while watching the world go by. We also saw eagle rays and small black tip reef sharks from the villa. The white sand, clear turquoise water, and sunsets at the sunset bar made the island feel like paradise. We left with memories we’ll cherish for the rest of our lives.
