Hulhule Island Hotel

The waiters were all good and the food and beverage service was fine. My problem was with the security guard at the outside guest entrance. I had food in a bag to take back to my hotel, and he told me to leave it outside. I asked if I could put it in the guardroom, but he wouldn’t allow that either and pointed me to an odd bench outside. What kind of hospitality is that? Did he think I was going to eat it in the restaurant in front of everyone? I was with another guest and didn’t want to make a scene, but security should be taught how to treat guests.

Saeed went out of his way to help us in so many ways, and Chef Dubey’s cooking was a real highlight. The food was outstanding and up to international standards. The whole team were welcoming and professional, which made our stay at Hulhule Island Hotel so lovely. Thank you to everyone there. We didn’t stay overnight, but went back to the restaurant and bar on two days in a row. The sea view is nice, and there’s a swimming pool by the bar. We tried the buffalo chicken wings and french fries. A useful thing to know if you’re visiting without staying there: the hotel has a shuttle from the airport, but a taxi will only take you to the airport. From the bar, the shuttle runs to the airport every 20 minutes.

The gym is decent, but the weighing scales didn’t work and the leg press was out of order. I couldn’t get in even after replacing my room card. The staff member who came to help didn’t know why the card failed, though he could unlock the gym with his own card. Reception was pleasant but slow with the check-in and other help. Poolside food was okay, but the pool had too much chlorine for me. It also took 15 minutes to make two pineapple juices.
