Niva Kuramathi Maldives

Maishan helped make our honeymoon feel extra special. He cleaned and restocked our room twice a day, left lovely sand art by the door, and even brought us coconut water. We also loved the food at Tandoor Mahal and our meal at Kobe, though we didn’t catch our chef’s name. The team at Kobe, The Reef, and Laguna Bar were so friendly. Shoutout to Rohul, Kritika, Louize, Samjhana, and the others whose names we missed. Getting to and from the island had made me and my husband anxious, but the hospitality made it easy. At the airport, someone escorted us to the seaplane terminal and a lounge with free pastries and drinks. Our bags were already loaded when we boarded, and on arrival we were welcomed with a cold towel, juice, and an explanation of how everything worked. Our luggage was delivered to the room. For the return trip, they gave us a clear schedule for packing, the buggy pickup, checkout, and boarding the seaplane. We couldn’t have asked for a better honeymoon. Thanks to Kuramathi for the kindness and hospitality. We hope to return, and would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the Maldives.

The Kids Club is what really makes this place special. The activities are great, but it’s the people there who create such a caring, happy atmosphere. We feel at home every time we come back. This was our third visit, and each time we’re reminded why we love it here. It feels peaceful, natural, and authentic, a lovely place to switch off and relax. The staff are warm and attentive, and we feel comfortable from the moment we arrive.

Our favorite restaurant was The Reef, and the two snorkeling trips were a real highlight of our two weeks. We fell in love with the Maldives and its fascinating underwater world, and would happily recommend Kuramathi. The island is large, clean, and has plenty to explore and lots of activities. Staff throughout were friendly and helpful. A special thank you to Madheeh, our waiter at the Haruge Restaurant, who was always attentive and kind to everyone. Majid, our room attendant, cleaned our room perfectly each morning and evening and decorated the bed beautifully every day. One small thing that could be improved is getting around. There are shuttle buses but no bicycles, and sometimes a bus didn’t come in our direction, so we had to walk. It wasn’t a big problem, though the service might be a little better. We had a wonderful, unforgettable holiday.

We stayed in a garden villa, and it was lovely, with an outdoor shower and a feeling of being right in nature. It wasn’t basic at all, and we didn’t feel we needed to pay for anything more expensive. The rooms were cleaned twice daily, mosquito repellent was provided, and the shuttle ran frequently around the island. There were plenty of bars to relax in, some with infinity pool views. The island was remarkably quiet even in peak season, though some guest areas could get busy, with people pushing. It’s beautifully maintained and spotless, and the snorkeling was the best I’ve ever done. The buffet was okay. Some food combinations were odd, but the themes changed each night. It matched and even exceeded what we expected, and was a perfect place to relax. This was our first Maldives trip, and I’m glad we chose Kuramathi. The staff were polite, but generally not as friendly as we’ve experienced elsewhere or especially proactive with service. One of the bars was an exception. Even so, I’d still give the resort five stars and recommend it to anyone looking to unwind. It wasn’t just couples there, guests were a mix. If you have the basic all inclusive, check what’s included when ordering drinks so you’re not caught out. We took the boat from Male, and it took an hour and a half.
