Reveries Diving Village is located in the idyllic island of Laamu Gan with its pristine white sandy beaches and vibrant, untouched coral reefs. The Maldivian island life and serenity of Gan with unique features, such as a mythical freshwater lake and old Buddhist Temple ruins, adds distinctive value to any traveller to the Reveries Diving Village.
This holiday village offers a lobby with a 24-hour reception and check-out service, currency exchange facilities and a hotel safe. The Hotel also features a café and a restaurant , wireless Internet access and room and laundry service. Bicycle hire is available for an additional fee payable locally.

We had a clean, spacious room facing the beach, with a nice bathroom and rain shower. Room service was available, and we ordered it a couple of times. The food was good too. The pool wasn’t accessible for the first couple of days, but with an amazing beach just a minute away, we didn’t need it. There were only three guests while we were there, so we had one whole side of the private beach to ourselves. The hotel’s location on Gan Island is spectacular. We also walked around and tried local food, though it can get pretty hot away from the beach. The manager said February to April is the slowest time to visit.

The people working here really care about the guests, and many of them have been here for years, which is rare in the Maldives. I’ve stayed at a lot of guesthouses in the country, and this is one of the best. It almost feels like a resort, with a private beach, garden, pool, and pool table. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and even have cable TV. The food is simple but delicious and very well prepared. It’s also a great place for fishing, diving, and snorkeling.

I came to visit the island in 2017 after reading that Star Wars Rogue One was filmed here. If you’re a Star Wars fan, this is a good place to stay. The staff were involved in the production and can take you to the location if you ask. They were friendly, the service was great, and dinner was good. I’d definitely come back if I get the chance.
