We ended up having dinner at Shallow Lagoon every night of our week on Rasdhoo. After a great first meal, we kept coming back and were never disappointed. The service was attentive and very friendly, and the food came hot and tasted great. I can recommend the Maldivian and Indian dishes. We didn’t try the western food. Grilled seafood or fish, and tandoori chicken, need to be ordered the day before.

The chicken tika massala was excellent, and the fish and noddle soup was delicious. Naan wasn’t quite like the original, but still tasted very good. The fried tuna rice was just ok. One thing to know about the chips: they arrive as fries, so explain that you want big chips if you mean the ones served on the side.

For Rasdhoo, the food came quickly, in about 20 minutes. I had grilled fish with rice and vegetables at one of the island’s more affordable places. The fish was badly overcooked and very dry, though, so I needed the tasty sauce on the side.

Good prices, friendly waitresses, and a broad menu of food and drinks. We waited around 20 mins for our dinner. You can pay by cash in usd/mvr or use a card.

Shallow Lagoon was my favorite restaurant in Rasdhoo. I ate there almost every day over my 2 weeks on the island because the food was so tasty, the value was the best I found, and there were loads of choices. Everyone was welcoming and soo friendly. Special mention to Lacey, who was always kind, remembered me, and checked that everything was good and suited my needs. 1000% recommend!
