Nurul was great and really helpful, but there was almost never anyone at reception when we needed something. The Wi-Fi kept disconnecting and barely reached the rooms. Hot water worked on the first day, then stopped. Breakfast was a five-minute walk away at a restaurant, and was very basic, either noodles or three slices of bread with butter or jam. The snorkeling activities were ridiculously expensive. They provided free water, but after a few days the room still wasn’t cleaned and the sheets weren’t changed.

We were there for about five days in January 2025, over the New Year holidays. The rooms had mold, with plaster and paint peeling in places. After my first night, I got a stuffy nose that wouldn’t clear up despite trying everything, and we couldn’t work out why. Once we moved to another hotel, it cleared up and my runny nose disappeared, so it turned out I was reacting to the mold. The photos make the place look better than it is; in person it feels worn and outdated. It might be manageable for a couple of days since it’s cheap and has air conditioning.
