Biyadhoo Island Resort

The island is small, with nice beaches around it, and you can hear the waves from your room. The food was good and tasty. It’s a quiet place if you want some private time for a getaway. We came for our first wedding anniversary and asked about a celebration. They said they’d provide a cake for free, but it never arrived before we left. We barely interacted with the staff otherwise. The rooms are very old and the bathroom needs renovation. We weren’t given much information about which food was halal or not, and we also didn’t know drinks at lunch and dinner weren’t included in the full board rate until they told us the charges at checkout. There isn’t much to do beyond enjoying the beach.

The snorkeling is the real draw here. The reef edge has loads of beautiful fish, and I even spotted an octopus and squid around the boats, which I didn’t expect. The beach is shallow and the waves are low, so children can swim there too. There’s no pool, though, so the beach is the only place to swim. I stayed five days on an all-inclusive plan. Food was decent but not top quality, and drinks included beer, red and white wine, and some cocktails. The resort itself was satisfactory, but the room felt old and could use an upgrade. If you want a cozy, neat place, you may prefer another hotel. For on-site snorkeling, it’s a good option.

Getting here takes about a 40-minute boat ride from Male. The island resort has a clean house reef where reef sharks wander, and you can snorkel, scuba dive, or surf. The rooms, food, and location were fantastic. I did feel the service could be better, and the staff didn’t seem very kid friendly.

It’s a good budget choice, with a large private property surrounded by sea on all sides. The speedboat pickup from the airport takes around 45 minutes. Rooms are ordinary rather than luxurious, and the rate includes three meals. The food tasted good and was good quality. Staff were friendly, and there are many Bangladeshi workers here. The bar stays open 24 hours. A few sea activities are available, and they can arrange more exciting ones with another property.
