Angsana Velavaru

The resort team made our stay memorable, especially Abba, Ijlal, Mansoor, Leila, Afza, Suhail, ali, and Shahid. They were warm, attentive, and always ready to help, and their care stood out throughout our meals and stay. We also found everything comfortable and well organized from arrival to departure. The facilities were spotless and the atmosphere relaxed. The buffet had plenty of delicious options, and dishes were replenished regularly. Hospitality, food, and service all exceeded what we expected. We highly recommend the resort for a relaxing getaway.

The sunrise view from my villa was a lovely way to start each day, and the island looked amazing from every angle. The house reef was great too, with lots of Titan fish, and I appreciated the conservation work. Ahmed and his Dive Centre team were fantastic, friendly, helpful, and clearly experienced out at sea. Talking with them at sunset was one of my favorite parts of the stay. The main chef was welcoming and remembered our order, a small touch that made a difference. At the main restaurant service was slow, probably because they were a bit understaffed. Laila was friendly and helpful, though. Housekeeping was the other rough spot: the person assigned to our room kept insisting he could only clean at a particular time and couldn't return if we didn't let him in then. That felt unprofessional. Nothing too serious overall, we loved our time there and can't wait to go back.

Mamun, one of the chefs, made lunch and dinner with my wife something I looked forward to each day. As fellow Bengalis, we connected right away, and his warmth made the visits feel personal. Buddy also helped make our breakfast, lunch, and dinner visits memorable with great service. Across our 6 days at Angsana Velavaru, the whole team was consistently welcoming and attentive. They checked in, asked how our day was going, and made each moment feel special. The service was some of the best we've experienced, and it felt genuine throughout. It was a beautiful, relaxing setting for our honeymoon, and the stay surpassed our expectations. We'll cherish those memories for a lifetime.

The ocean villas are huge and have a rooftop, and I'd consider coming back for one. We spent 3 nights in a beach resort room and 1 night in an ocean villa for our wedding anniversary. The beach area is small but worked well for relaxing. The resort is only reached by seaplane, then a speedboat transfer from where the plane docks at sea. Service from most staff was polite and good, though the hospitality wasn't as good as Sun Siyam. Appa, one of the restaurant staff, was especially friendly and made me a necklace from coconut leaves. Personal butler service would have been ideal. The amenities were fairly standard and incomplete: the beach room had toothpaste and a toothbrush, while the ocean villa also had a vanity kit. There was no weighing machine. There's a medical centre but no doctor on site. My husband got rashes from sea lice larvae and needed medical attention, so we had to go to another island to see a doctor. The wind and rough sea kept us from booking any of the sea activities or sports. Buffet meals were average with limited variety, while the à la carte food was tastier and offered better choices.
