Evila Inn - Thoddoo

Thoddoo is lovely, the nicest of the three islands we’ve visited. You come for the beaches and the island’s vibe, not fancy rooms, and Evila Inn suited us well for a week. The room was fine, nothing special, but we slept well. The bathroom was nice, and they added a small bed so all four of us could sleep there, which we really appreciated. Being in the center meant everything was close. We had half board and ate well. Breakfast got repetitive and could be better, though for what we paid, we can’t complain. The manager knew we liked fish and often made us fresh fish, which we appreciated. The staff were always ready to help with laundry or meal planning. They also prepared a nice takeaway breakfast for our early speedboat ride on the last day. Everyone was very accommodating. Thanks, shaanaa and the staff, for helping make it a great stay.

My mum and I had a lovely stay at Evila. Free bikes made it easy to ride to both Sunset and Sunrise Beach, and I think a bike is a must. A few of the bikes need maintenance, but other guesthouses charge extra for them. Breakfast was included and changed a little each day. We especially loved the fruit, fresh papaya juice, pancakes and chocolate pastries. One evening my mum lost her phone. A local lady eventually found it not far from Evila’s entrance, but the Evila family tried hard to help us and even went to the beach with a big torch to look for it. Special thanks as well to the two girls from Burma. They, like everyone at Evila, were so nice. The guesthouse also lends out fins and masks for free. Its garden, with plants and sand, is cozy and lovely, and the place is quiet. We highly recommend Evila. P.S. To other guesthouses and everyone visiting Thoddoo, please keep the beaches clean and don’t leave rubbish around. The marine wildlife and ocean, and everyone else, benefit when we do.

Shaanaa was so caring and helpful, and made our stay feel perfect. The breakfast was delicious, the rooms were clean, and I loved the open bathroom. I’d definitely recommend staying at Evila Inn.

The hosts were warm, professional, and always smiling, and they were happy to help with anything. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and breakfast was great. You can borrow bicycles, and the beach, port, restaurants, and supermarkets are all within walking distance. It’s a lovely place to unwind. We’d give them at least 100 stars if we could.
