The staff were so friendly, and the room was comfortable. We had some lovely meals, especially the Ethiopian food, which was delicious. It's a lovely hotel, and I'll definitely stay again. It's a bit far out to walk anywhere to explore, though I guess that's the case with any place right now because of all the construction work in Lilongwe. www.thehungrytravellers.blog

The rooms are gorgeous, and I really liked the aesthetics. The place itself is beautiful, and the food was nice. But the cocktail was a huge disappointment: it tasted like orange squash (sobo), with no alcohol flavor at all, and I didn't feel as if I'd had an alcoholic drink. I started wondering if they'd just watered down the squash and sold it as a cocktail. The waiter was nice, but he checked on us so many times that we got uncomfortable and wondered if we'd stayed too long at the restaurant. Another man, who I assume was the manager or owner, kept staring at us. We'd be chatting, then catch him peeking through a window, which made us wonder if something was wrong. The staff stared a lot too. It felt like everyone was watching, and we were too uncomfortable to even go for a swim.

It's a lovely-looking place, and it seems nice for a vacation.

I made a group booking for three separate dates, but when I arrived they wouldn't honor the agreed rate. Then, on the morning my 10 guests were due to check in, they texted to say they no longer had rooms for us. Don't assume you'll pay the price you were quoted or that they'll keep your booking. Unprofessional!

I loved the quiet walking paths outside, which are nice for exploring or exercising around Area 6. Lalibela is a cosy, quiet, exquisite hotel right in the heart of town, so it's easy to reach the important parts. Security is guaranteed.
