The location is definitely the strong point, about 10 minutes from the entrance to Bonfil Beach. The hostess was friendly and attentive to what we needed. The room had a refrigerator and dishes for three people, but the cleaning could be better. It's a very modest hotel, really just useful for sleeping.

The main reason I booked this hotel was that it was close to our event. There were three couples, and I prepaid the first night for three rooms after agreeing on a price with the manager. At check-in, we were told the rate had gone up by $250 per room for peak season, even though that first night was already paid. We had to cover the difference for the second night, which I hadn't prepaid. Then the room arrangements got confusing. One room was meant to have twin beds, but we were given a double instead. Since everyone wanted twin beds, we asked for the room they had originally shown us, only to be told it cost more. While one couple went to ask about switching rooms, the rest of us were on calls and sorting out our plans. When the staff member asked who was using the remaining room, we had no idea what room she meant. She had charged us for an additional room instead of just the price difference for the switch. I tried to explain what had happened eight times, and spent 45 minutes asking her to correct the charge and call her supervisor. She kept saying it was our mistake. Eventually I asked for a refund because I didn't want to stay. I got through to the owner by phone, and after about 20 minutes she agreed to cover the extra charge for the additional night and waive the amount I'd originally paid for the second night. I still spent another 30 minutes explaining everything to the manager over the phone while she continued to insist it was our fault. The next day the manager called me, since she'd taken my number at registration, to ask if we wanted the room cleaned. I said yes because we'd be tired after the event. We had only left our suitcases there when we arrived, returned to change in the afternoon, then gone out and come back at 3:00 AM to sleep. At checkout, a towel was said to be missing, and I had to pay the $250 the owner had waived. I couldn't leave otherwise. What a waste of time and frustration. I hope I don't end up somewhere like this again. Now I see why these reviews matter, so people can avoid losing their time, or at least know what could happen.
