I was on the 24th floor, and the view alone made the stay worthwhile. From the balcony, the Pacific stretches out without interruption, with beautiful sunrises and coastline fading into the distance. The higher floors seem to be the best way to enjoy the spectacular ocean panorama at Hotel Amares Acapulco. The tower has a distinctive design and sits right on the beachfront, with direct beach access. There are terraces and outdoor seating in the common areas. The location is handy for restaurants and main avenues, yet the room felt quiet and elevated. The rooms are comfortable and clearly set up to make the most of the view. If a memorable sea view from a high floor is what you’re after in Acapulco, Hotel Amares is a solid choice.

We had such a great time at this hotel in Acapulco at the beginning of 2026. The rooms were fresh and very nice, with an amazing view over the bay, and the staff were extremely friendly. Thanks for making the trip memorable. 🇲🇽🍀 I’d recommend staying here. Be sure to look at the artifacts on the main floor about Acapulco’s history as a beach resort. Amazing.

The beach view is the main thing, and it’s beautiful. The valet parking attendants and receptionist were very cordial, and there was a little bit of history in the lobby. I’d invite others to stay at this lovely hotel.

What let us down most was how inconsistent the service was, alongside the basic comfort problems. Some staff were genuinely kind and tried to help, while others were curt or seemed uninterested. In the end, we wouldn’t choose this place again for a family celebration or a relaxing break, and the facilities and service need a serious upgrade to live up to the setting. It isn’t pet-friendly, and guests who need easy, step-free access to the beach should plan carefully. We chose Amares Hotel Acapulco for a long weekend in late November 2025 to celebrate my wife’s birthday. My wife, her mum, her siblings and I had stayed there in 2021 and found the service surprisingly decent for a large beachfront hotel, so we came back. Driving along Acapulco’s Golden Zone, we found the hotel easily. Its spot on the Costera is convenient for direct beach access and nearby restaurants, shops and cafés. Check-in itself was straightforward, but reception gave us two key cards and only one worked. One pair from our group went back down and were told the second card couldn’t be enabled. Later that night, the evening staff activated both without any fuss. That attitude set the tone. The building is fairly modern and large, but its three lifts quickly feel inadequate at busy times. Waiting can take a while, a concern with older relatives or anyone with limited mobility. There are ramps and step-free access to most common areas, but getting to the sand means using a wide staircase, with no lift or special equipment. Guests with mobility issues will struggle to enjoy the beach. Our basic but functional rooms had a coffee machine, a small table and two chairs, shelves and hanging space, a small balcony, a safe, USB charging ports and a hairdryer. There was no fridge, the lighting was limited, and the bathroom had no ventilation, so it got humid quickly after a shower. Hot water was inconsistent too, very hot in the morning and noticeably cooler later in the day. The missing fridge became a worry because my mother-in-law has diabetes and needs to keep her medication chilled. The hotel can store special medicines, but retrieving hers was complicated by slow lifts and crowds at busy times. We bought a small cooler so we could keep the medicine with us, then were told we couldn’t bring it into the hotel. Thankfully she also had a smaller container, but the whole thing caused unnecessary stress. A small minibar fridge in each room would make a big difference. There are two pools, two restaurants and direct access to the beach, but these amenities feel insufficient when the hotel is busy. Parking isn’t included and costs around 150 pesos per day, so factor that in if you’re driving. Breakfast was included but average: diluted orange juice, chilaquiles without the sausage they used to have, and otherwise acceptable fruit and pastries. It filled us up, but wasn’t something to look forward to. The location in the Golden Zone and direct beach access are the hotel’s strongest points. If you find a good rate, travel light and don’t have special medical or accessibility needs, it can work as a functional place to sleep and enjoy the sea.

I arrived without a booking, and Yesenia at the front desk was really kind and helped us check in. The security staff were friendly too. The hotel is right across from the beach, with pools for the whole family and pool towels available. Our room was a good size with a sea view, and housekeeping did an excellent job. The lobby was spacious and clean, and there’s valet parking or regular parking for an extra fee. I paid 300 pesos for two nights. Restaurants and bars stay open late, with reasonably priced food, and there are other places to eat within walking distance. There’s also an OXXO nearby for snacks and beer. A very nice hotel, no issues for us, and I’d definitely come back.
