The private stretch of sand right by the ocean was one of my favorite things, and we really appreciated how private the place felt. The safe boxes are bolted down, so Americans can feel comfortable leaving valuables in them. We also loved the pool, especially the little stools where you can sit, enjoy the view, and have a drink. We came from Los Angeles, CA for the first time, and this place has everything you need to enjoy Acapulco. We’d give it 10/10 across the board. America helped us plan our stay and was kind, polite, and quick to answer our questions. Juan Carlos, the manager, showed my American husband around and speaks English. Our waiter Fredy was awesome, as was Carlos the barman. My husband loves Margaritas and says they served the best ones we tried in Acapulco, even after visiting quite a few restaurants and bars. The food was incredible too. We realized by the end that we didn’t need to leave to enjoy Acapulco, even though the place is small. It’s breathtaking. I’m still dreaming about those Tuna tostadas and the Tamarind margarita!

Hotel Celin deserves the full 5 stars. I’m surprised it has 4.9. The area around it looks pretty worn down, but inside the gates is one of Mexico’s best hotels. The pool is gorgeous, the beach is breathtaking, and the rooms are perfect. The staff are friendlier than you’ll find at the bigger, towering hotels down the street. Even the night guard was extremely friendly and let me go down to the beach late at night, although the rules say it closes at 11pm. If you want a great beachfront stay in Mexico, choose this hotel. You’ll be surprised.
