Hotel Posada Centenario

There's parking behind the gate, and the place is simple but comfortable and very clean. It's a gem right in downtown Ixmiquilpan, only a few blocks from the market and main square.

There was no hot water, and the showerhead barely let any water through. After a long day of travel, I was hoping for a warm shower, but ended up washing with cold water from the bathroom sink using a cup. When I asked the front desk about it, he said he would check or that the tubing might be clogged. The water never got hot. I mentioned that again when we checked out, and he didn't even acknowledge my complaint. They know there's no hot water and don't tell guests. For what the rooms cost, we expected a much better stay. Lesson learned: when booking a hotel in Mexico, always ask if it has running hot water. Who wants a cold shower? We chose this place because its rating was 4.2. As soon as we entered the room, there was a moth flying around. There were a few strands of hair on the bed and pillows, which made us wonder whether the sheets are washed for every new guest.

For 150 pesos more per night, this is a much better choice than hotel plaza Isabel. There weren't hidden charges for things like the TV remote, and Wi-Fi was included.

They never gave me my change 😂 Still, the rooms were comfortable, not too hot, the bathroom was okay, and the Wi-Fi worked great.
