Guadalajara Plaza Ejecutivo

Our patio door had no working lock, so we had to get it repaired. That's a safety issue. I nearly hit my hands on the low ceiling fan, too. If you're five feet or taller and raise your arms while it's on, you could hit it. We moved to a somewhat better room upstairs, but the problems were still there. The place is filthy and run down, nothing like the online pictures. Cheap dirty carpet, old gym equipment, and dirty pool water made for a bad experience. The pool is downstairs, with homes around it, and people there were drinking and making noise for those of us in the lower rooms. WiFi is terrible. Service was mediocre, and staff apart from the room cleaners barely greeted us or followed through on requests. We stayed four nights and were questioning it after the first. This felt more like a two-star place than a three- or four-star hotel. The service was average. Don't trust the positive reviews, they seem fake or from people who haven't stayed in a good hotel.

The rooms were clean, and we felt welcome and safe thanks to the staff's excellent service. Breakfast and dinner both had plenty of food to choose from, and we enjoyed them. On our first day, some kids were yelling loudly enough that we could hear them in our room. We were exhausted from our flight. Aside from that, we'd definitely stay again.

We loved the buffet breakfast, and the pool area was clean, peaceful, and inviting. Staff were kind, helpful, and quick to respond. The room was tidy and well organized, though the carpet was filthy. My two-year-old went barefoot the first day and ended up with very dirty socks. A fridge isn't already in the room, you have to ask for one, and we didn't find that out until checkout. We had nowhere to keep our son's milk, and there isn't a microwave in the rooms either. Also, my little one managed to open the door twice and leave the room. They should add door chains that small children can't reach.

The 24-hour gym was clean, had good equipment, and looked out over the pool and greenery. There was also a bar open for certain hours, plus a fridge at reception with Electrolits, water, soda, and snacks for sale. We didn't get to use the pool, though it looked lovely and people seemed to be having fun there. We got a king bed and one bathroom, with everything else we needed. The shower adjusted quickly to the temperature we wanted, and the TV could be turned in different directions. Housekeeping did a very good job. There was no mini fridge, which would've been useful in the hot weather, and the only plug for getting ready was by the bathroom. It was loose, so my curler or straightener kept falling out. I had to choose between sitting somewhere with more outlets and trying to use them there. Breakfast was included, tasty, and convenient, with lots of food and drinks: beans, eggs, fruit, gelatin, seasoned steak, chicken and potatoes, chorizo and potatoes, vegetables, yogurt, cereal, chilaquiles, French toast, and pancakes. A woman made omelets, sopes, and huaraches with cheese and chorizo. Drinks included coffee, hot chocolate, milk, and different juices. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us warmly, helped with our luggage, and got us settled quickly. The front desk and bell boys were helpful throughout, and we had a pleasant stay. Our flight wasn't until later, even though checkout is at 12pm. We left our bags with the bell boys, got a ticket listing how many we had, and the whole thing went smoothly.
