Hotel Oasis Acapulco

A great spot to kick back.

We were a group of 14, including three kids, and I had booked a hotel through Booking.com for a family trip. Instead, from the moment I arrived, everything felt strange. The app said hotel, not motel, but the receptionist was incredibly rude when I asked about the reservation. She said they had no rooms, couldn’t find our booking, and didn’t know we were coming. After speaking with her “boss,” she said the only option was to charge me the full amount despite having no rooms available. She offered us a room to change in so we could go to the beach while waiting for motel rooms to open up. She claimed the motel room was “clean,” but it wasn’t. The beds hadn’t been made, the air conditioner dripped onto a bed, and they put a trash can on the mattress to catch the water. The room smelled of cigarettes, and the bathroom bin was overflowing with trash, papers, and hair. I wasn’t going to wait for a room in those conditions. We’d booked a hotel, and this was a disheartening situation to face on a family vacation. I had to find somewhere else at the last minute.

The TV has no channel selection. Our first two nights were fine, but on the third I woke up with bites all over my legs and had no idea what had caused them.
