Hotel Atizapan

The rooms were clean, but the detergent and chemical smell was unpleasant. The reception experience at the hotel and motel also felt poor, with little human warmth and an unwelcoming tone of voice.

I really liked spending the week here. The room was a very spacious, clean double, just like the pictures they show. We initially booked a regular room, then found out it didn't have Wi-Fi, so we changed to a suite and were given the Wi-Fi password.

The food was the main letdown. We ordered crepes that came cold and tasted old. After sending them back, the replacements were warm but still tasted old, so they seemed frozen and microwaved. We did get two calls from management checking on the issue. The breakfast plan only covered MXN 120 worth of food, which we didn't realize until the waitress said we still had to pay. The hotcakes were heavy and not good, and the coffee was horrible. I'd go to OXXO for a cup instead. The room itself was good quality for the price, and I would stay again on that basis, but I wouldn't eat here again. We had a king-sized bed, a nice surprise since booking dot com said they only had full size beds. There was decent water pressure, good toilet paper, and a TV big enough to see. The Wi-Fi was super fast, 171 down and almost 38 up, even through a VPN in NY. Our room was on the top floor, on the east side of the building. It heated up quickly once the sun came up, and there was no air conditioning or ceiling fan to cool it down.

A comfortable spot to stay and spend some quality time with your wife. It's clean and secure, with amenities like room service and music. I'd recommend spending a night or two here.
