Casa Zazil

Marta and Carmen made us feel completely welcome, and we had a great four-night stay. Breakfast was delicious too. On the day we left, they even packed breakfast sandwiches for us to eat on the bus.

I wasn't staying at the hotel, but since it's close to the ADO bus terminal, I asked whether I could leave my bags there for the day. The owners, two sisters and their cousin, were so friendly and helpful. They wouldn't even take any money, and one of them drove me to the bus station because my bag was really heavy. Muchas gracias!!

We only had one night here on our way back from Mahahual, after having already visited Bacalar the week before, which was a shame. The hosts were warm and the rooms were spotless, with a really nice atmosphere and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was fantastic, and they asked what we wanted. That worked especially well for us as vegetarians, and seems like it would be good for vegans too. They shared lots of great tips that we didn't get to try. We'd absolutely recommend staying here.

At first I was so impressed by how clean the room was that I started taking photos from different angles, as you can see in my pictures. It's a one-story hotel. Then I realized I'd left one of my suitcases outside the room. The woman had been keeping an eye on it from a distance. I really appreciated that she looked after my luggage while still respecting my privacy. The women who helped me were very kind.
