Hotel Casa Lima Bacalar

The location worked well for visiting the fort, taking lagoon tours, and finding restaurants nearby. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the air conditioning worked. Breakfast was included, which was nice. The internet was unreliable, probably not suitable for work or streaming, though fine for quickly checking on people. The whole town had an internet outage for several hours on our arrival day, so that may have contributed to the connection trouble during our stay.

The concierge was friendly and gave us ideas for places to see and tours to book. The hotel is in a great downtown spot. Our room felt like a little cave in a good way, cool and safe behind the stone walls. Breakfast was basic, just fresh fruit, toast, and coffee. There was construction during our stay, and it was loud.

The owner was wonderful with advice and tips, and really made our stay. We would’ve stayed longer if our plans had allowed it. The hotel is in a very good location, with friendly staff, good rooms, and a decent breakfast. We paid extra for an omelet, and it was very tasty.

Right in the middle of Bacalar, we found a peaceful little oasis. I didn’t know what to expect, and it turned into the kind of stay you remember for a long time. I’ve stayed in bigger and more expensive hotels, but this one made me feel like part of the family. It felt very secure, was close to everything, and they took such good care of us. They also lent us bicycles to explore the city.
