The family running the hotel were wonderful and made us feel right at home. It was exactly the kind of place we wanted in Mexico: on a quiet street, near the shops and restaurants, with the ocean just a block away, so we didn’t need a pool. The room was very clean, the beds surprisingly comfortable, and the ceiling fan kept it cool. Don’t let “Budget Hotel” put you off. We’d happily stay again.

We’d stay here again. It was an easy, quiet place to stay, and the big rooms and friendly local family were a plus. A double room was 400 pesos a night, and there was a free station for refilling our bottles with safe drinking water. The older bed felt worn, and the bedding was loose and frayed. The bathroom could use updating too. Wifi came and went, especially toward the back of the building. Putting one router upstairs at one end and another downstairs at the other might help.

I left right away because I was afraid I’d be next. I saw a man having some kind of bad hallucinatory trip kick in an older couple’s door, and nothing was done. There was also nighttime arguing on the patio when people got high. Claudia, the manager, lets her long-term drug-using clients run roughshod over everyone else. Sorry, but this hotel gets no stars from me.
