We had a lovely little house to ourselves, with thoughtful touches like good coffee, thick towels, and nice decorations. It really felt like a home of its own, and the service was splendid. Everything was arranged for us, including a very knowledgeable guide who kept sharing interesting facts. Our host also knew a lot about Mexico and its history. She wasn’t born here, but after 25 years she’s become Mexican herself. 😉
We learned a lot about the country on the Calakmul tour the owner arranged. Our stay at Rio Bec Dreams was wonderful, with British-style service and European touches in the towels and other items that gave things a luxurious feel. There’s no air conditioning, but the temperature at night was comfortable.
We only came looking for breakfast and hadn’t booked a night, but the owner was friendly and let us order anyway. It turned out to be the best breakfast we had in Mexico, and both the setting and staff were lovely. The place is close to Calakmul and Becan. We recommend it and wish we’d stayed overnight too. Thank you!
Rio Bec Dreams with Diane was a little jungle paradise, and we loved every minute there. The food was amazing, the margaritas were the best, and Diane knows so much about Maya culture and archaeology.
After exploring the nearby ruins, it was great to come back to fresh, delicious meals at the in-house restaurant. The staff made us feel at home and went out of their way to help. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, balancing comfort with the surrounding nature. A peaceful retreat with wonderful hospitality and food.
