This was my first trip, and I couldn't have picked a better place. We stayed six days and seven nights, and I’d happily do it all again. The resort and rooms were nice, and the workers were super friendly. There was plenty of room to lounge on the clean beach, and we also enjoyed the clean adult-only pool. Getting into downtown Bucerías took about 15 minutes on foot. There were lots of markets selling all kinds of things, and you could walk along the beach to get there if you didn't want to go through town. A cab was pretty cheap too. The resort felt affordable, friendly, and like a great environment overall. The buffet had good food, from local dishes to more American options like burgers, fries, and hot dogs. There were also three restaurants with reservations for a finer dining experience. Our excursions were booked through a really nice guy named David. Swimming with the dolphins and a sunset sail were both fun and memorable. We skipped the city tour because it was way too hot. Food: 8/10 Drinks: unlimited, 10/10 Culture: 10/10 Pool: 9/10 Beach: 10/10

The cleaning team did a meticulous job. Our room was spotless, thanks to Ana Padilla, and so was everything around the pools, down to each chair. We really enjoyed the Mexican restaurant and the Thursday night buffet. The one thing I'd change is how restaurant reservations work. You have to get up early on vacation to book, which was a bit disappointing. Booking online would be much easier, though the staff handled things efficiently and the wait was no more than 10 minutes. Big applause as well for the animation team and the service across the property. Many thanks for a memorable vacation 😘😘😘

We visited from January 17 to February 6 this year and had a great time. We'd return, and would recommend the resort for its affordable price and location, plus the iguana entertainment. The rooms are dated and could use a facelift, though nothing caused us problems. Buffet choices were limited, but there was always something to fill the gap. The food wasn't always hot, so that could be improved. Desserts were consistently great. Yenny and Isle were two of the many servers who looked after us and made us laugh. Check-in was quick and easy, as was the sad day we had to leave.

The staff were really nice and efficient, and the grounds were spotless and well cared for. We had a great week. We stayed in building 6, which meant a bit of a walk to the beach, but it was quiet and we slept well. The rooms were dated, though that didn't bother us since we didn't spend much time there. They were very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the showers had plenty of hot water. Food was a strong point. The brunch buffet by building 5 was lovely, with good omelets and lots of fresh fruit, and it was quieter than the larger buffets. Lunch buffets were consistently good, with something for everyone. I liked the steamed vegetable options, and my daughter loved the pasta station. The à la carte restaurants were excellent. Our favorites were Italian and Mexican, and we also enjoyed Brazilian and Japanese. Getting into town was easy. We met family staying at another resort and walked to Bucerias for lunch. It was nice to have other options, and there was a grocery store up the hill where sunscreen was much cheaper than at the resort shop. We booked two rooms at the same time, for my husband and me and our young adult daughters. Same last name and credit card, but they put us in separate buildings and on different floors. It was a hike between them. The beach chairs were uncomfortable; someone passed on their floaties and we bought one more, which fixed that problem. Restaurant reservations were a pain. You have to line up in the morning, when they open at 8. The line gets long and the popular places go first. On two days, we couldn't get a reservation before 9 PM. I got in line at 7:15 one morning and managed to book 7:30 PM at the Japanese restaurant. I wanted Italian after that, so I queued at 6:45 AM and was around 30th in line, but got the time I wanted. The app doesn't work properly, so lining up seems to be the only option.

The resort has a lovely layout and is close to things you might need. Bucerias market is a beautiful 15-minute walk, with very good restaurants nearby. The main frustration was getting a place to sit and making restaurant reservations. This resort seems to have mostly seniors, and people get up at 6 AM to leave towels on beach and pool chairs for the day. Finding a beach chair can be almost impossible unless you set an alarm and get up early. There's a small sign saying seats can't be saved if you're away for more than 20 minutes, but it doesn't help. There are five à la carte restaurants, but booking one is very difficult. They have a scan code, but it fails most of the time. People start lining up at 6 AM even though reservations don't open until 8. We tried it one day and were fourth in line. My sister got a reservation, but my girlfriend, who was in another room, was told it was already sold out. We stayed 10 days and only managed to get an à la carte reservation on two of them. It's an incredibly frustrating, stupid system. There are three sittings, and even when you walk by and see three to six open tables, they won't seat you without a reservation. I spoke to the manager and raised our concerns, but he was a real jerk, completely unaccommodating and unsympathetic. The reservations guy, a tall, skinny man with glasses whose name I can't remember, was extremely rude too. The website is misleading. The rooms are old and outdated and don't look like the photos there. They were clean, but some doors had sweeps to keep bugs like cockroaches out, which we'd seen, and others didn't. We had to put a towel under the door to keep them out.
