Villa Cobojo

The people at Villa Cobojo make the place feel welcoming without hovering. Everyone, from the manager and front desk supervisor to the servers and counter staff, was kind, warm, relaxed, and attentive. I stayed here recently as a digital nomad, and the small boutique hotel has a thoughtful layout. The street-side seating, open kitchen, bakery display, front desk, dining area, and performance space all connect in a way that makes staff and guests feel like they belong. The aesthetic is gentle and fitting. The restaurant food is very good, the baked goods are hard to resist, and the musical acts a few times a week are talented. There's also plenty of hot water.

Erika had a snack and drink ready for us when we arrived, and she was especially wonderful. The staff were great, too. Our room was clean and well equipped with dishes, an initial supply of water, and a full-size fridge. The pool and beach access were fantastic. The restaurant was very good, with delicious lunch and a quiet atmosphere that worked nicely for a romantic dinner. Bucerias water is very salty, so be ready to buy bottled water. We'd love to come back!

We got a lot more than we expected from the room: great views, thoughtful design, and a luxurious feel at non-luxury prices. The bistro was exceptional, too. I almost don't want to recommend it because I'd like it available next time we come. It's a real gem.

We stayed in the rooftop palapa and loved its open-air room and unusual vibe. The service was the best, and Manager Erika went out of her way to help us. The whole team keeps everything clean and in great shape. This is our new go-to.
