That old colonial building has its quirks, including a water well in the middle. Each time I needed the bathroom tap or shower, I had to ask the front desk to turn on the water. They did it right away every time, so it wasn't a bother. As a solo budget traveler, I wanted somewhere clean, comfortable, safe, and hopefully picturesque, and Hotel Regis gave me all of that. The building is lovely, and my room was spacious, clean, and well laid out, with plenty of closet space, a mini-fridge, air conditioning, and a phone for calling reception. There was free drinking water and sometimes coffee in the lobby, too. I especially loved having a balcony. It's right in the historic center and only a few minutes' walk from the Malecon. I'd happily stay again, 10/10.

We needed a room while traveling and found a place outside the Hotel. It was huge, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel itself has a quaint, old period feel, right on the edge of Centro.

I didn't stay at the hotel, just had lunch at the restaurant "7 murallas." The place was clean with a nice atmosphere, and the service was quick and attentive, though we were the only table there at the time 😀. The menu wasn't huge but had enough variety to find something, and since I'm not a fan of Mexican food, the salad worked perfectly for me. The dishes tasted fine but weren't outstanding. I also heard that portions of some items, like "pan de cazon," could be bigger.

We were there on June 22, 2024, and got a room in really poor shape. The mattress was uncomfortable and the springs lifted whenever you moved; the pillows smelled bad, there was no hot water, and the bathroom looked dirty, with rusty faucets. Our room was on the ground floor directly opposite reception, so it wasn't a good place to rest before an open water competition in those conditions. :(

The location right in the center was excellent, and on my first visit to this hotel in Campeche City I found the staff helpful and the service good. A couple of practical problems, though: in such a hot place you end up showering often, so don't leave spare soap or shampoo under the tap. Water splashes out of the shower area, and they should install shower enclosures because it can be dangerous.
