Hotel Alux Cancun

For the low price, I can’t really complain. I spent five nights here, and the staff were nice. My room was cleaned each day, and I got fresh towels daily. You do get what you pay for, though. Everything is very old and falling apart, and the plumbing is bad. I had to flush the toilet about ten times to get it to work properly. The location is hard to beat, just steps from the bus terminal.

Room 306 faces the ADO depot, so it can be noisy until the buses stop around midnight. The room is very basic: a bed with two small pillows and a sheet, plus AC. The bathroom has one towel, a roll of toilet paper, soap, and shampoo. There’s no elevator, so I’d avoid this place if you can’t manage stairs with luggage. It’s only about a three-minute walk from the ADO depot, which is extremely convenient if you’re stopping in Cancun to catch a flight. The first airport bus leaves at 430am, then 515am, then 6am, and every 30 minutes after that. It costs 78 MXN. There’s a decent taco shop across the main road that closes by 9pm. I walked to La Habichuela, which was excellent. Please give this review a thumbs up if it helped.

Being close to the bus station and keeping the price low is why we picked it. There are plenty of places to eat and buses nearby, and the bathrooms were nice. Our room was adequate, though street noise came through since it faced a main road. Staff seemed a little unfriendly. We were also surprised that a cash-only hotel had no change for larger bills.

The main plus is how close it is to the ADO station. Otherwise, it felt overpriced: the room was noisy because it was near the street, the bathroom was old, and the bedding wasn't clean. I even found someone else's hair on it.
