Deluxe Suites at Villas Tropical

A good option if you want to stay near the beach without paying as much as you would at a chain hotel.

We booked this Airbnb for its beach access and pool, but the pool had no water when we arrived and stayed unusable throughout our four days. The property itself was adequate, and the air conditioning worked well.

We booked Villas Tropical through Airbnb for three days, but on arrival the host switched us to an Airbnb called Condominios Brisas. It was a very disappointing stay, and I wouldn't recommend booking it. The place fell short of what we'd expected in several ways. The living room air conditioner didn't work, and the other unit took ages to cool the place, so we ended up sleeping with the windows open. Water pressure was very poor, the restroom was uncomfortably hot, and there wasn't enough toilet paper. The pillowcases were dirty and stained. The other Airbnb option had seemed better, with three beds and a sofa bed.

The host was very accommodating when we asked to add days, and there was lots of space. We had one power outage, probably affecting the whole area, and the water stopped too. Depending on electricity as much as we do, that was a problem. We found a bucket and carried agua from the swimming pool. A box of matches might let guests light the gas stove if the power goes out. Luckily, electricity returned just in time for us to make breakfast before our day trip. Everything else was great.
